I know it’s been quiet over here lately.  Well I have news….my blog is moving!  I finally got my own domain name and I’m moving my blog over to the new site. Now you will be able to find me here – atmonikasplace.com

So I won’t be posting on this blog site any more.  If you are subscribed by email you should automatically start receiving the updates from the new blog once I start posting over there.  I’m still working on getting everything cleaned up and looking pretty on the new site so there will still be some “construction” going on.  But I wanted to let you know that I won’t be posting here anymore.

Card Maker’s Class

This week is my monthly Card Maker’s Class.  If you live local to me come join me and make some cards this month.  I have this class set up at the end of the month so that you can make your cards and have them ready to go for the following month.  There is always an assortment to choose from.  And this month I’ll be including a couple of choices for Valentine’s Day too.  There are always Birthday cards to choose from – here is a new one for this month.

Christmas Card Stamp a Stack Class It’s time for the popular Christmas Card Stamp a Stack class! Join me on Saturday, October 28th at 2:00 PM Come make a stack of beautiful handmade Christmas cards to send to family and friends this holiday season. 4 card designs and you will make 5 of each one for a total of 20 cards. Envelopes included. Please bring your own adhesive or plan to purchase some here.  Bring a pair of paper snips and you may also want a bone folder. Christmas Wishes

This weekend is my first Christmas card class of the season.  I’m starting with a class featuring the Watercolor Christmas Project Kit from the Holiday Catalog.  The kit makes some really beautiful cards and I added stamping on my envelopes too.

Everyone coming to the class will get a start on their cards for the season – we will finish 20 cards in this class.

But today I wanted to show you how fun the coordinating stamp set is.  This is a card I made with the stamp set.

I used the Watercolor Christmas stamp set along with Tranquil Tide card stock and ink.  I added a piece of the Wood Textures Designer Paper Stack (It’s part of the paper sale going on this month).  The large circle is cut with the Layering Circle Framelits.

The Corrugated Elements embellishment and the little stamped hand cut tree are stapled on.  Yes I still use my retired Stampin’ Up! stapler.  But any stapler will do – this one just uses smaller staples than those normal office sized ones.

It’s a quick and easy card.  With just a few supplies you could make a stack of these and add them to the stack from the project kit and be ready for your holiday card sending in no time.

Card Maker’s Class

Every month I have a Card Maker’s Class at my stamping studio.  It’s the perfect class for every level of stamper.  You get to make the cards that you need and work at your own pace.  Card choices vary each month.  I’m there to help you with anything you need.  Upcoming dates for this class are:

• Friday, October 27 – 10 am and 7 pm
• Friday, November 17 – 10 am and 7 pm
• Friday, December 15 – 10 am and 7 pm

Every card is in a shoe box with all the supplies inside.  You select a box take it back to your seat, make one or  more cards and then clean everything and return the supplies to the box and the box to the table.

My Paper Pumpkin subscribers get to make a bonus card – it’s an alternate idea using the stamps from the monthly kit.  This month my class was held before my kit arrived (actually my kit arrived the day of class) so I had a second idea for the August kit.

Classes coming up

I thought I would add a post about some of my classes that I have coming up the next couple of months.  Due to some travel plans a few of my regularly scheduled classes have shifted a little bit.  I’m finishing up my September newsletter also so if you are on my email list you will be getting that today too.  If you live locally to me or are visiting in the area please join me for a class.  Grab a friend and come enjoy some crafting therapy and fun!

Monthly Card Maker‘s Class – this is a fun class for all levels of stampers – brand new to those that have been stamping for years.  It’s a flexible class where you get to choose the cards you make. Normally held the last Friday of the month. But I’ve had to move it for Sept and November.    Card Maker’s Class – September 15, October 27, November 17

Stamper’s Club – this is a monthly stamp club that meets at my house – try out brand new products, learn new techniques, and make cards and projects that are more involved.  Minimum order is required, and each member gets a turn to earn the hostess rewards.  Normally held the first Friday night/Saturday morning of the month.  But October and November are shifted.  Stamper’s Club – October 13/14, November 1

Paper Pumpkin Craft Night – a night to gather and work on our monthly Paper Pumpkin kits. If you are a subscriber bring your kit and join us.  If not you can come join and see what we are making or purchase one of the extra kits that I have with me.  Normally held the last Wednesday of the month.  Paper Pumpkin Craft Night – September 27, October 25, November 29.

Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat – a fun weekend retreat with your crafty friends.  Make & Takes, games & prizes, yummy food, and surprises throughout the weekend.  Held in the Spring and Fall. I still have open spots for fall – deadline to register is 9/10.  Stamp, Scrap & Create Retreat Fall 2017 – September 29 thru October 1.

 

 

Watercolor Christmas Card Class – my first holiday class for this season.  Make 20 cards with a beautiful water colored look and gold accents.  All supplies included. This is a PREPAID class – fees due Oct. 1st.  Watercolor Christmas Card Class on October 14.

Christmas Card Stamp a Stack – join me for my popular Holiday stamp a stack class.  We will be using products from the Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog.  You’ll make a stack of cards all in one afternoon.  Take them home and mail them out to family and friends.  Christmas Card Stamp a Stack – October 28, November 26.

Birthday Stamp a Stack

Last weekend I held a Birthday Stamp a Stack class it was lots of fun and everyone left with a stack of birthday cards ready to mail out.

There were three card designs using the Cupcakes & Carousels Designer Paper Stack and the Balloon Adventures stamp set.  Everyone made 4 of each of the cards.  We embellished the cards with Bakers Twine, Linen Thread and Gold Glimmer paper.

I also showed everyone an idea for decorating the Gold Card Tin that you can get free during Sale-A-Bration.  I included the die cuts and paper for them to use on their own tins.

 

Here is a suggested list of items you could order to complete this project and get the Tin for free.
